I went to watch My Fair Lady with Raymond on 13 January 2007 in the Esplanade. The only version that I have watched was the movie version with Audrey Hepburn, one of my favourite actress! I loved the music and songs in the muscial and it is just nice to watch it on stage!
The only disappointment is that it was only showing for 2 weeks and no further extension was needed to extend the show period. For the benefit of those not having watched the show before, it's actually a muscial written in the 1950s, about the class distinction in the UK, through the different accents of the population. Where you may be able to land yourself a job in a florist if you speak proper classy English, whereas if you speak less classy English, you'll remain as a flower girl at Covent Garden. It went on to talk about a bet by 2 professors, Professor Higgins and Pickering, specialising in English phonetics, in transforming this flower gal, Eliza Dolittle, into a princess within 6 months, in the annual Embassy Ball. It was a simple story, but touching. It's just nice to watch it live on stage and revised on the sweet songs again!
